Check a YouTube video

Paste a link to a single YouTube video or short. MediaLink reads the formats that are actually reported and prepares a file only after you confirm.

Live status: not tested yet No real download has been proven locally for this platform yet. Input, validation and the flow are implemented; the source may still refuse the request. No success is promised.

Your input and any running jobs are kept when you switch.

Platform and content type are detected automatically.
Your link is passed to our server only for processing and is never sent to advertising or analytics. The file is stored temporarily, can no longer be retrieved after 30 minutes, and is deleted automatically afterwards.Single public videos, shorts, reels, Twitch clips, Instagram photos and carousels, and single Pinterest image pins. No profiles, boards, playlists, livestreams or stories.

These links are recognised

  • youtube.com/watch?v=…
  • youtube.com/shorts/…
  • youtu.be/…
  • m.youtube.com/watch?v=…

Only complete HTTPS links to single posts. Short links are accepted only when the host is on the allowlist.

Not part of the service

  • Channels and subscription feeds
  • Playlists
  • Livestreams
  • YouTube Music
  • private, restricted or age-restricted videos

Good to know

  • Only formats the source reports are offered – unknown resolutions and sizes stay unknown.
  • Separate video and audio tracks are merged with FFmpeg without re-encoding the picture.
  • Age-restricted videos are not bypassed; that would need a sign-in.

Questions about this platform

Why do some YouTube links not work?

Channels, playlists and livestreams are deliberately excluded. Private or age-restricted videos need a sign-in, which the service does not use. Playlist or channel links are therefore rejected before they are sent.

Do I get the highest available resolution?

You see exactly the formats the source reports, with one recommendation. Nothing is upscaled, no resolution is invented and no watermark is removed.
