Good to know

  • Many public posts now require a sign-in. The service uses no third-party accounts or cookies.
  • Carousels are not downloaded in bulk: every image and video is prepared individually, shown in original order and saved individually.
  • Photos are saved unchanged in the highest version the source reports – without upscaling and without additional re-encoding.

Questions about this platform

Why does Instagram often say a sign-in is required?

Instagram often shows content only to signed-in visitors. MediaLink reports that neutrally and deliberately uses no third-party sessions or cookies. A public post can still work – but it is not guaranteed.

Are Instagram stories supported?

No. Stories are out of scope for Release 1.0; their downloadability is not proven. Single reels, video posts, photos and carousels are recognised. Stories are rejected with an understandable message before a job is created.
